The director of Missouri's state emergency management agency wants the President to free up federal funds so flood victims in Kansas City can rebuild. Lee McGuire has more from Jefferson City.
It may not look so bad in St. Louis, but state emergency management director Jerry Uhlmann says the damage in Kansas City is widespread.
Uhlmann says the area deserves what's called a Presidental declaration of individual assistance, which would allow residents to get federal help to pay for things like medical expenses, temporary housing, and repairs.
Uhlmann says he'll ask either Governor Carnahan or Lieutenant Governor Roger Wilson to make the request for federal funds. Governor Carnahan returns from vacation this weekend. In Jefferson City, Lee McGuire, KMOX News.
