Republican legislators want to give Missourians a tax cut

Some Republican state legislators say Missouri tax-payers should get a 300 million dollar tax cut. Zana Lo has the story from Jefferson City.

In a press conference at the state capitol, House and Senate Republicans say a point 5 percent tax cut would bring Missouri under the Hancock spending and taxing lid.

Republican candidate for Auditor, Chuck Pierce, says the current surplus in tax revenues came from a miscalculation at the Budget Office.

Last year's Missouri Supreme Court ruled that the Budget Office's method for calculating the Hancock lid was valid. At the State Capitol, Zana Lo, KMOX News.
