The Missouri Police Chiefs Association is giving their full support to Governor Mel Carnahan's plan to crack down on methamphetamine abuse.
Melissa Phillips has the story from Jefferson City.
Methanphetamines... they're cheap, easy to manufacture and offer the user longer lasting effects.
The problem isn't just a rural issue either... just last week police busted a lab in St. Louis.
Missouri Police Chiefs Association Committee Chairman Robert Lowerey says passing stronger methanphetamine laws must be a top priority.
Lowery says Missouri ranks first in the nation for the number of methanphetamine lab busts.
From Jefferson City, this is Melissa Phillips reporting.
