Missouri PSC sets intervention pre-hearing date for Southwestern Bell

September 17, 1998

The Missouri Public Service Commission is taking a closer look at Southwestern Bell's application to provide long distance service to Missouri residents. Zana Lo has the story from Jefferson City.

Some telephone companies say that not enough competition currently exists in the local telephone market. And if Southwestern Bell is allowed to provide long distance service, the Baby Bell could establish a monopoly.

Steve Weber is a spokesperson for AT&T, one of the companies intervening before the PSC.
