Monday's free-fall on Wall Street closed the books on a roller-coaster month for investors, and although stocks took a beating, bonds gained strength.
Missouri's director of investments, Craig Husting (HEE-sting), said the rise in bond value has helped the state's investments.
Husting (HEE-sting) says the state of Missouri has about three billion dollars invested in the bond market. At the close of trading Monday, Treasury department officials counted an unrealized gain of about five million dollars for the month of August. At the state capital, Lee McGuire, KMOX News.
