September 15, 1998

State Capital Bureau

The State Legislature meets tomorrow/today to decide whether it will challenge any of Governor Carnahan's vetoes. It will also say good-bye to one of its leaders. Lee McGuire has the story from the state capital.

Senate President pro term Bill McKenna says that this year's veto session should be over by Thursday.

If that's the case, then Thursday will be the last day McKenna presides over the state Senate. Term limits require him to step down at the end of this year.
