Some state Republicans have said the federal government should step in to observe Missouri elections. Lee McGuire has more from the state Capitol:
Southeast Missouri Senator Peter Kinder says he is concerned that casino interests might have a corrupting influence on elections this November. Kinder suggests federal marshalls be stationed at some of the state's polling places. Kinder says a federal presence is necessary to ensure a fair ballot.
Secretary of State Rebecca Cook says that Kinder's proposal goes too far.
