Government says Misssouri needs tougher drunk driving laws

Missouri will lose federal money for road construction unless tougher laws are made against drunk driving. Stacy Covitz has the story from Jefferson City.

The Missouri transportation department supports stricter drunk driving laws required by the federal governmnent. Director Henry Hungerbeeler says the state needs tougher laws against repeat drunken drivers and driving with open containers.

Contents: If Missouri doesn't pass these laws, $12 million dollars of federal funding will be taken from highway construction for drunk driving and safety programs.
