St. Louis Senator Mary Bland is the sponsor of the Equal Rights bill. She has cancelled the last two committee meetings, and says the bill wouldn't have made it out of committee.

She and Senator Joe Maxwell are working to find a different way to get the bill to the Senate floor.

Contents: Maxwell says since 1971 the women of Missouri have been denied the same rights as men and the Equal Rights Amendment deserves a vote from the Senate.

The Senators have submitted the bill under a different classification, most likely sending it to a different committee.
