Federal grant funds four workforce counselors to aid hurricane evacuees across the state.

A four hundred thousand dollar federal grant provides new services to hurricane evacuees.

The U.S. Department of Labor approved funding for four workforce counselors to advise approximately fifteen thousand evacuees across the state.

The counselors are based in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield and Cape Girardeau.

Workforce Development Director Steve Kraus says the counseling is a short-term relief effort.

Governor Spokesperson Jessica Robinson says the grant demonstrates Missouri has been instrumental in helping evacuees.
