Pro-Choice Press Conference Held to Oppose Governor's Task Force.

Intro: After the assembly of the governor's task force on abortion raised concerns about its political motivation, a group of pro-choice Missourians led by Democratic Senator Joan Bray voiced their opposition.

Pamela Sumners, Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri, spoke at the press conference, saying the task force was designed to find a way to effectively outlaw abortion in Missouri.

Sumners also hinted toward a political reason for the formation of the task force.

Description: They are not interested in anything scientific, they are interested in propaganda and they are interested in shaping outcomes, including perehaps the outcome of the 2008 gubanatorial election.

Sumners said she would expect some organization to sue the state on constitutional grounds if it passed a law that effectively outlawed abortion.
