Missourians have mixed emotions about gambling industry

Missouri's gambling industry faces opposition from a local group. Ann Hynek has the story.

A recent study by the Taxpayers' Research Institute of Missouri and Associated Industries says that gambling is good for the state's revenue and employment.

But members of Casino Watch, Incorporated, say that the gambling industry requires legislative control.

Mark Andrews, Jr., represents Casino Watch.

He says that a loss limit slows the rush of addicted gamblers.

Casino Watch also says they want a limit to the number of slot machines in gambling facilities

They're also asking to have five million dollars set aside for treatment of Missourians addicted to gambling.

The Joint Committee on Gaming and Wagering plan to meet January sixth to produce a recommendation.
