Sierra Club "cautiously optimistic" about new DNR chief

Matt Blunt's choice to head Missouri's environmental protection efforts is getting mixed reactions from environmentalists.

In some, ways the nomination of former Senator Doyle Childers is almost a blessing to environmentalists.

A longtime moderate from Southwewt Missouri, Childers has a history of concern for water quality issues.

Carla Klein is state director for the Sierra Club.

She says she's worked well with Childers in the past but doesn't have high hopes for her agenda in the new administration.
